This exceptional memorial urn?ring?from the Georgian era?(ca1780s) is quite an exquisite piece! Crafted in vibrant 18kt yellow gold, the ring is richly detailed, and serves as a fine example of the mourning jewelry tradition. Set atop an ornate, graduating band is a circular centerpiece which wraps around the finger, following the curvature of the ring. The plaque centerpiece displays an incredible raised urn image which adorns rich, black enameling and fine old Rose Cut diamonds set along the center, bottom and top. The urn is realistically portrayed and the 3-dimensional appearance accentuates the elegant look of the piece. A hidden compartment can be found along the back of the urn, exposing a small black and white image of a lost loved one.?The disguised?compartment?feature of the ring is not immediately evident due to its seamless design, making it a subtle and secretive feature! Completing the design is an ornately detailed graduating band which has soft cutouts at either shoulder. An exceptional antique mourning ring, it is rich in history and would be perfect for the serious Georgian?jewelry?collector!
